Podcast Guests

Greetings!

If you are seeing this, you've been invited to be a guest on the Southern Fried Fantasy Podcast! Thank you for considering it, I'm super excited for you to take part. Here is what you need to know:

They are recorded online, over zoom. So you will need a computer and microphone (if your computer doesn't have a built in one). Don't worry about video, this is audio only. Sundays are the best day for me to record, so if at all possible we need to schedule a time then. It usually takes about an hour, but never longer than an hour and a half.

You need to make sure I have links ahead of time to your books, and your website if you have one. A lot of the questions I will ask will be generalized to all guests, but I like to be able to dial in and ask some questions specific to your work, and that means research. The more you can give me, the better my questions can be.

Here is a list of the questions I am likely to ask:

Tell us a little bit about yourself, and your ties to the South.

Ok, now tell us about your book(s).

What is an element of southern culture that you felt it was important to showcase in your work? How did you do that?   (A lot of folks say the hospitality. And that is fine. But if you would like to stand out more, maybe think about other possible aspects you've included)

Where do you get your ideas? Are there events from your own life that you have worked into your books?

Do you use anything supernatural from southern folklore in your novels?

What’s your writing process? Plotter or Pantser? How long does it take you to write a book using this method?

What’s your best bit of writing advice for those who may be struggling with getting into writing?   (Just write is the best advice, and a lot of folks give it. So also consider other possible bits of advice if you want to stand out more)

Do you play music when you write? If so, what?

Who is your author hero?    (you can say multiple)

Who is an author you think we should be checking out, that we aren’t?  (you can say multiple)

Where can we find you, and your books? (website, socials, etc)
