2023 Status Update: Success Markers!

The first in a series of three posts recapping various aspects of 2023, in this post I am going to review what the current state of my success markers! If you are new here, I am a big advocate for defining success for yourself. And part of that is breaking it down into more digestible chunks so you can give yourself a sense of accomplishment. I do this, and announce my little victories on here. So here we go, the goals underlined have been completed!
My Short Term Goal List
These are items that I hoped to complete within 2-3 years at most. I think I will tick off at least 2 of these next year. But man, I would love to get all three.
Get 100 reviews on a book - Done! (Bringing Home the Rain)
Do six panels at Dragon Con - Done! (Dragon Con 2023)
Sell 1,000 Books - Done! (Over 2300 at this point I think, the exact number will be tallied up on the 31st)
100,000 KENP - Done! (Over 270k at this point I think, the exact number will be tallied up on the 31st)
Have a 1k book launch - Not Yet (900ish is the current record)
Have a 1k month in a non-launch month - Done! (Had a few now)
Sell 5,000 Books - Not Yet! (See above)
Instagram over 500 likes - Done! (589 as of this second)
Facebook over 1000 follows - Not Yet! (Over 900)
250 subscribers to my newsletter - Done! (Up to 600ish)
Patreon to 4 - Done! (Sitting at 9!)

These are items that I hoped to complete within 5-6 years at most. Honestly didn't expect to have any of these ticked off yet, but I have done two! How rad is that?!
Sell 10,000 books - Not Yet! (See above)

Trad Publish - Not Yet! (I don't count misadventure in small press publishing for the purposes of this)
Make 10k in a year - Done! (Spoiler, the exact number will get announced in the third of these blog posts, but I know it broke 10k)
Make 50k in a year - Not Yet!
Insta, Facebook over 5k follows each - Not Yet! (See above)
1,000 Reviews on a book - Not Yet! (See above)
Over 100 reviews each on at least 10 books - Not Yet! (See above)
Get an agent - Not Yet! (See above)
Write a script and shop it around - Not Yet! (but there is some movement here...)

These are items that I have no control over, as they are entirely fan led. But damn if two haven't already happened!?
Have a fan do a Rule 34 of my work. - Not Yet! (Thankfully?)
Have a fan write some Jubal County Fan Fiction. - Not Yet! (I know I'm not supposed to read it if it happens, but...)
Have a fan get a Tattoo of my work. Not Yet! (Oh man, the pressure!)
Have a fan cosplay as Howard Marsh at a convention. - Done! (Happened at Alabama Comic Con!)
Have a fan make some fan art. - Done! (Someone did an awesome photoshop of me as Marsh at his shed)
