A Quick Guide To Tales By Bob

What is Tales By Bob?!

Tales by Bob is my (Bob McGough) brand. I figured out early on that McGough was going to be hard for folks to remember how to spell, and I was lucky that no one yet had taken Tales by Bob on socials or websites. If any of the sections below interests you, the heading is a link to the section of my site that goes more in depth into that element of the Tales by Bob Empire.

Who even is Bob?!

All you really need to know is I look scary, but am very friendly. I'm an introvert that has learned how to extrovert, I make a disturbing number of puns, and I am that usual underachiever odd duck that moves to the beat of his own drum.

Author!

My main focus is writing books. Currently I have a six book series about a redneck wizard with a crippling meth addiction that I have published called The Redemption of Howard Marsh. It is a part of The Jubal County Saga, my blanket name for all content set in this world. I have collection of short stories and novellas set there as well called Southern Saudade. Coming soon I have a horror novel being published by Falstaff Dread called Capital of Nightmares, and I am getting close to putting out a Jubal County Saga horror trilogy.

Podcasts!

I guest on a ton of podcasts, and I create a few. My most well known is Books, Beards, Booze.

Game Design!

I like doing tabletop game design. To that end I started a micropress called Bearded Bard Inkworks, which publishes by novels and games, and long term will be publishing game content for other authors.

Transparency!

I pride myself on being one of the most transparent authors I know. Each month on my blog you will be able to read all sorts of behind the scene content, from exactly how much I make, to social growth, to convention/event recaps. I also talk a lot about my overall strategy, and things I am trying.

Education!

I have mentored a goodly number of authors, and am always looking for ways to help more folks. To that end I have created a whole host of videos and PowerPoints to help guide creatives towards success. It's all free content. I also teach a good number of workshops/classes/critiques and am always looking for new ones to speak to.

Convention Guest!

I love being a guest and panelist at conventions. If you have a convention I very likely would love to be a guest there. I do a dozen or so a year most years, and try to focus on fan run conventions over corporate.
