Convention Recap: Dragon Con 2025 - Assorted Highlights

Here are a small sample of items I want to highlight about my trip to Dragon Con this year!

• The LadyWife was once again my rock throughout the weekend. Seriously, in a billion different ways she was so supportive. I could not have done it without her.

• Also, I got to introduce her to a lot of my friends, like having lunch with Jim Nettles one day. I want all the world to see just how lucky I am, and to be blown away by how amazing she is like I am.

• I got to spend a lot of time with Joe Compton and Ben Meeks. They are my two brothers from other mothers, and it always fills my heart to be around them. I could have done with some more Ben time, but Joe was a constant all weekend. Life is good.

• I witnessed Gerald Coleman get 'hexxed' (not really) by a person in the crowd during the Southern Fried Fantasy panel. And I know who 'did' it, and she has already told me if I include her name in this blog post, she will murder me. cough ladywife cough cough

• A friend set me up to pull off my favorite 'chilly' pun during the Punnery panel. Thank you Cofu!

• I met a man who told me that exact chilly pun. Everyone who has cursed me over the years, and claimed no one says it except me, well suck it, because I found someone else who says it too! Venessa was there to witness it! Bwahahaha!

• Charlaine Harris was super nice to me. And Sherrilyn Kenyon and I bonded over having family members who were both deacons/preachers and water witches. That was neat.

• Seeing so many Dungeon Crawler Carl cosplays. So, so many. Seriously, it was the one I saw the most of. And for the most popular cosplay to come from a book series, instead of a move, or show? Fuck yeah. Maybe one day there will be enough redneck wizards in attendance to have a photoshoot.

• I gave away probably a thousand stickers. I was so stoked on what a hit they were! Each panel I had a bunch of folks come up and ask for them!

I am certain there are a billion other things I am forgetting, it's basically non-stop amazing, but this a good round up I think.
