If you want to skip to the punch line, I broke $2,500 bucks for the first time ever. Now that's settled, how did I get there?
So I had three ways by which I sold books:
1. Once again I was in the Sidestreet Book Market, the brainchild of Ben Meeks. Once again I gave away all of my signing times in order to maintain more balance, with all the paneling I did. You might recall that last year on Friday I did not have my yard sign up, and I only sold 60 bucks worth. This year I had the sign there on Friday, and sold 360 bucks worth. So yeah, the sign works.
I ended up totally selling out of every book I brought, save for 6 copies of Southern Saudade. How wild is that?
2. Once again I was allowed to set up at the Fantasy Gather, a four hour book market for Attending Professionals and Guests of the Con.
3. I was invited to participate in a one hour signing as part of the Urban Fantasy Track. Shockingly, with Patricia Briggs also doing a signing at that time, folks weren't exactly swarming my table. That said, I was very, very happy to sell 300 bucks worth. For an hour's work? Yes please.
What will I do different next year?
I will bring more books for the booth, seeing as I sold out. Probably at least ten more of each.
I will have new books as well, so that will be nice.
