Event Recap: Foothills Book Festival 2025

Yesterday I had the privilege of taking part in the Foothills Book Festival. Technically this was the first year under that name, but it was the third year of the event. Previously it had been held in Sumiton Alabama, and was called the Sumiton Book Festival. They moved it to the nearby, larger city of Jasper however which is intended to be the permanent home for the event, which predicated a name change. 

The first year of the event was my previous all time one day sales record holder. I sold 715 bucks worth of books. Year two was down a bit, but still a great total for a one day event at 560 bucks. This year though has now taken the top spot on my list of best single day events for sales (numbers below)!

I shared my booth with Silas Reames. Long term readers will recall that she took me up on my offer to 'intern' in my booth to learn in person sales two years ago. Then this year she took part in our big booth at Huntsville Comic and Pop Culture Con. At that we discussed her taking part in this, so we agreed to share a spot. As ever she was a great booth mate, and she moved a lot of books. 

I have a few small thoughts.

• I love these events because I get to do them with so many local friends.

• I connected with a print shop in the Birmingham area that I will be reaching out to, to explore having them print my books. If it is at all comparable to Amazon's prices, I will switch, just to have a more consistent print job, done in a short time span. 

It ain't none.

I was actually properly stocked up for the first time since Dragon Con, thank god.
