It’s that time of the year! The time when you either stab a Roman ruler, or celebrate the World of Jubal County! I know which I’d rather! Welcome to the IDES OF MARSH!

My goal each year is to provide something new for the World of Jubal County each Ides of Marsh. This year sadly, that won’t be happening, but there are still a few things happening!

First, in case you missed it, the first Jubal County audiobook will be coming out very soon (it’s looking like April at the moment). This has been a long time coming, and I am so excited to be working with John Solo to bring these books to life in audio form. My original dream had been to have this book launch today, but John is a guy even busier than I am, so I didn’t even ask him to try and have it out by a particular day. I’m letting him work his magic at his own pace.

Secondly, I have crafted a small secret ebook. It takes some of the content I have been making for my Patreon, and compiles it together into a little 50 page book. How do you get it? Well the easy way is to just go sign up for my Patreon. It’s only 2 bucks a month, and you can try it for a week for free. Seriously, go do the free week, read it all, then cancel. I promise I don’t mind.

The other way is to spread the faith, and cross your fingers. What this means is that if I stumble upon you in the wild promoting my books, I will send you a copy as a thank you.

So your options are: read them on Patreon, or spread the good word and wait for me to see it. Wondering what it contains? Here’s what it’s got:

  • 12 Marsh Dispatches, which are tiny essays by Howard Marsh where he talks about whatever is on his mind.

  • 3 Notes from the Secret Classes, which are excerpts from classes taught at the hidden magical college at the University of Alabama.

  • 3 flash fictions in the Holidays in Jubal County series.

  • A quirky flash fiction about possums, that is an homage to one of my favorite childhood scary stories. It’s called Wait Til Horace Comes.

Today I am in Birmingham at the Alabama Writers Workshop, and will be leaving there to go directly to Atlanta for the Atlanta Writers Workshop on Saturday. But if I get checked into the hotel early enough, I plan to do a live video chat in the Deep South Rural Fantasy Discord (Link Here). I will announce it closer to the time when it’s going to happen, so keep an eye out!

All in all, happy Ides of Marsh! Remember the traditional blessing:

“May your teeth remain plentiful and intact!”
