Monthly Recap: September 2026

TRANSPARENCYMONTHLY RECAP

9/30/20264 min read

Ok! A bit more to chat about here.

First off, my new payhip store is working really well! I had three different folks order direct from my website! How cool is that! Like an actual store, not just a link to amazon or a contact box that says 'reach out about signed copies.'

Of course the big thing this month was Dragon Con. I sold a lot of books there, 99 to be exact. That comes out to quite the tidy sum.

My expenses were higher this month, but I paid for a lot of editing, so that will do it. I also did a big book order, but that hasn't all hit yet. So next month will be up as well I suspect.

Going back to my Facebook ad, it is still helping my online and audiobook sales quite a bit. Part of the issue is Amazon put me in some sort of promo for Book 1 in my series, making it a lot cheaper this month. Which meant I got more sales! But I didn't make as much per sale, which hurt me somewhat. I should make it back up in the long term as I get read through, but in the short term I just sit and think of what could be.

I'll take it!

If you would like to leave a comment on this blog, a version of it has been posted on my Patreon and my Subreddit.

Hey, I broke 4k followers across my platforms. That's pretty cool!

Outside of that, I really need to work on my Facebook ad. It's gotten oversaturated, so my click rate has gone up. I need to refresh it, badly. It's still working, but not like it was.

Anyway, here are the numbers:

Alright, alright, alright!

So of note this month is:

I wrapped up my pass on Jubal County 7, so it's ready to go to my editor Cleo as soon as she sends me back Black Water Requiem.

I did Dragon Con. That is my biggest event of the year, and you can read all about it in my blog, over like five posts.

I kicked off the new project with Ben Meeks. We're doing a site SouthernGothicFantasy.com where we are working to promote the genre we write and love. A lot of work is going into it, so you should go check it out.

Books are still on schedule, so BWR should be coming in December, and Marsh 7 in January.

Quick summary:

  • Word Count: 6236

  • Hours Writing: 17

  • Hours Working: 28

  • Pages Edited: 167
