Total Books Sold, 2025 Half Year Check In
TRANSPARENCYMILESTONEPLANNING

So, as anyone who has spent any time here knows, I like to be open and transparent on the numbers. I like to think that me doing so might help someone out, and I also hope that other folks will follow suit. The more information we have, the better our decision making will be and all that. Since I have hit the half way point through the year, here is the next tally of how many books I have sold. When it comes to in person sales this number is as close to accurate as I can get it. I totaled up how many I have ordered, then subtracted what I have in inventory. I have given some away, so I would subtract that from the total number of in person books I have sold.
Total
For those who don't want to read all this, here is the total number:
- Total Sold: 4,776 (increase of 509 since 1/1/25) - 269/509 online
- 240/509 in person
- 3510/4776 online
- 1056/4776 in person

- KENP: 416,777 (increase of 47,452 since 1/1/25)
- Given Away: 7,873 (increase of 2,605 since 1/1/25)
Some notes for this edition:
- You will notice a large uptick in given away editions for all my Jubal County books. This is because when I launched the second editions I set all the books in the series to free for five days to celebrate.
- The omnibus editions now have KENP numbers, as when I did the second editions I put them in KU. This is a short term experiment.
- I no longer track my 'this many KENP equals the equivalent of X numbers of books read.' I am secure enough in myself now to say that I did that to help soothe my ego I think.
- I now include audiobook numbers.

** I only list the online sales total, because my in person sales totals have a variety of products mixed in, ranging from art cards to zines. So it's too hard for me to go back and calculate accurately the total amount I have earned from my books. I have earned over $40,000 since August 2020 when I started keeping stats.
FAQ:
Why do you sell so few of books 2-6 in person? Because I basically stopped taking them to events once I had my omnibus editions. I now only sell those online, or in a bundle of all 7 books I have out for 100 bucks.
Why do you sell so few of Southern Saudade? I joke that it's my unmarketable book (despite being my best book imo), so I am still figuring out how to market it.
